The Climate thing is a red herring here. There have been fires in the area for hundreds if not thousands of years. How you manage/respond to them is completely a human problem.

As we argue in our latest article, the cause isn’t any single ‘bad policy’—it’s that CA’s entire philosophy of governance has become a caricature of itself. Time to change. Here it is if you wanna take a look! https://thewholetruthpublications.substack.com/p/the-fire-and-the-plague

Alabama's Gov. has raised their Flag.

Off-topic, but in the news, as Trump the private Citizen raised Mar La Go's Flag to full Mast yesterday. Gov. Abbot has ordered TX to raise the Flag.

A private Citizen never has to lower the US FLAG. It is a choice. Should private citizens fly flag at half-mast?

No, according to the Flag Code, only the President of the United States, your state’s Governor, and the Mayor of the District of Columbia can order the US flag lowered to half-staff. Private citizens and non-government buildings are not authorized to fly the flag at half-mast.
