Meet a retired Air Force pilot who was scrambled out of Dulles to ID a UFO probably 50 years ago. Flying at 500 knots per hour, he was along side the UFO and it accelerated and disappeared! His comment! It was not from this earth! It is rumored that the Roswell UFO crash gave researchers the fiber optic concept as well as the laser! Who knows what else!
I had a patient, Charlie, a former Air Force pilot that recounted a story to me, that occurred in 1945. He was flying a P-51D Mustang, got separated from his flight, when he spotted a ME-262 hauling ass at low level. He immediately dove to intercept when he spotted the 262's quarry, a bright silver ball that was just outdistancing it. The 262 was throttling back as he came up on it, leading to him overshooting. Quickly easing off the throttle, he and the German pilot both flew at reduced speed in the silver ball's wake. Then, it flashed yellow, made an impossibly tight turn to vertical, and left the scene. He said he then looked to the German pilot who simply held up both hands for a moment. They flew together for a few more seconds, exchanged salutes, then Charlie proceeded home.
Charlie never saw another Foo Fighter ever. or for that matter another 262, till after the war ended.
I often wonder if there is intelligent life out there on another green planet that is just 1000 years more advanced than we on earth. Technology keeps compounding annually and who knows where we will be in 1000 years. Will we have created drones without humans on board that can travel at enormous speeds. Who knows?
