If everyone or at least, lets say 20% stopped paying what could the corrupt system do?

I think that's what the FEMA camps are for....they are all over the US. I do see your point, however, and would still proceed on your premise, at some point the numbers will begin to work in our favor, if not individually, at least collectively.

What a wealth of info here.

Tax on property means it's not a free country. A one time sales tax when bought I can accept but no tax ever again.

America only has an illusion of freedom so far by freedom of movement over great expanses gives one a free feeling.

Yep, property taxes is why we may have to sell our grandfather’s home in Columbia, SC. I’ve put a lot of work into the place over the past years, now it’s hard to afford the $50 it costs to drive up there!

Opinion: For Democrats, ‘freedom’ is just another word for mandate

https://www.yahoo.com/news/opinion-democrats-freedom-just-another-124500784.html

While speakers at the Democratic National Convention tried to portray presidential nominee Kamala Harris as some type of cross between Perry Mason, Jack McCoy and Mother Teresa, the overriding theme at the convention and until the election is freedom. But don’t be fooled. Democratic strategists made it very clear months ago that they shifted to the freedom theme as a marketing strategy because it sells well.

As the Wall Street Journal’s Molly Ball reported last December, abortion rights advocates have “changed their message.” And the article’s subtitle explains why: “Supporters of abortion access have emphasized ‘freedom’ and ‘values’ in successful campaigns in red-leaning states, with more to come in 2024.”

We saw the “more to come” at the convention, and we’ll hear it frequently until the election.

Ball points out, “Abortion-rights activists rarely use the term ‘pro-choice’ anymore, preferring to talk about people’s ‘freedom to decide.’” We heard that message from several convention speakers.

Let us not overlook the ancient origins of taxes .... the tax collectors in Jesus' time, the Jews hated by other Jews, with whom Christ associated much to the Pharisees' disgust. The apostle Paul, "a Hebrew's Hebrew" as he called himself, was once Saul the tax collector.

Inflation Calculator

If in 1913, I purchased an item for $1.00

then in 2024, that same item would cost: $31.77.

Cumulative rate of inflation: 3077.2%

So taxable income over $3,000 (1913) would now be $92,310.

But instead, it's $20,000. hmmm.

Just my mention how Columbia s c. Was one of the places long ago that I really liked the people very much. The kamel says unburden yourself. Can't stop the big wave but can be a good surfer.
