It has been many years since the US government has been a republic operating according to the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The President is a figurehead executive officer. Congress no longer enacts laws which benefit the country or its citizens. Control of the government is held by the Deep State and the administrative state under the orders from the globalist Bankers Cabal. Among the most serious missteps made was the Congress's establishment of the Federal Reserve in 1913. Giving control to your monetary system to a private corporation is a serious mistake. This country is no longer a representative republic or democracy or anything resembling what the Founding Fathers had intended. This country is a fascist, authoritarian state.
The blame can be given to the citizens for not being vigilant. Now, it up to the citizens to regain control and reinstitute the Constitutional Republic of, by and for the people known as the United States of America.

But I agree with you about our priceless freedoms and the excellent structure of government, theoretically, that the founders created for us. I just wanted to add about the right to keep and bear arms that by law we should be allowed to own much heavier weapons that would place us on a par with an opposing force today. Certainly when they wrote those documents many of us citizens had better weapons than the British tyrants we were fighting against. We had extremely accurate rifles from frontier German gunsmiths and the British had the smoothbore brown bess musket. It would be absurd to imply that we should be limited to anything less than state of the art modern weaponry to allow us to fight back against any modern tyranny
