the Koran is an amalgam of biblical and other texts, the Old Testament is copied into Islam. where it is possible in European culture to do historical research from a critical perspective, even concerning religious persons, this is not quite the case in Islam, mainly because the division between state and religion (as we know it) does not apply. yet. however, as far as I know critical study and research is taking place, but on a national level rather than internationally, partly due to differences within Islam, ranging from tolerant (Indonesia) to much more strict (Afghanistan, SA) and addressing specific issues (i.e. female genital mutilation).
Historical accuracy...this is a moot subject. much of the truth has been suppressed. Its always been the way of the world...protect the money interests. When it comes to money, the truth is hidden.
Well done Edwin, you saved me the trouble of writing this article myself. I've been following the research on Islam for years and have quite a bit of notes on the subject. I love how you compared the figure of Muhammad with King Arthur... legendary and most probably mythical.
To my knowledge, major religions teach peace, abeyance to their God. They do not propagate death to all that follow another religion. Islam is the exception. The Muslims believe in forced conversion, with death for those that will not comply. Mohammed's followers kill fellow members of the faith, along with their own women and children. I do not find such barbarism and heathenism in other religions (which is not to say other religious fanatics have not killed). This "religion" is sadly unique.
History? Written by the victors and in today's climate will be written by the Muslims of the future. Gaza independents are winning support in British constituencies once Labour strongholds. Muslim leaders are holding major positions in local government and local business. But the main reason for my proposition is the strength of community, family and religion in the Muslim faith.
So called Christian leaders have pissed on their community, alienated young people and made their religion a joke.
I base these thoughts on personal experience of see pedophile priests simply moved on or erased from memory, along with the Bishops etc. And my own, wonderful daughters reverting to Islam and experiencing more love and support from the Muslim community than they ever received from Christians. I see Muslims making every effort to use their Mosques and their prayers while Christians can't be bothered to go to church more than a couple of times a year.
Am I a Muslim? No. Am I Christian? Not for anything. What will happen when Islam and REFORM UK meet? I believe that's the outcome that was planned by the globalists many years ago.
On the contrary. I believe in human beings and human spirit. I believe in the Vikings who sailed into the unknown. I believe in the explorers who opened up the wilderness. I believe in the men and women going to space. I have more belief in the idea that angels were alien intelligence. Belief in God. Nope
You have hit the nail on the head. I have said this so many times that I have lost track . As a Hindu I rarely go to a temple, but still hold on to core teachings and values . It’s time more Christians do the same . We have become too materialistic and faith on the back burner.
Evangelical Christian, I stopped going to church over a decade ago, the church changed, music, and message. The idiot preacher said Not to leave during his pablum sermon, seniors have health issues that require the bathroom. Gastroparesis was at its worst then, where did he wish me to deposit the vomit or feces sometimes both at the same time? Doesn't change what I believe. Since I'm now hearing impaired, I hate noisy places, to many talking.
I totally agree with you about church, it has changed. I'm 70 y.o. and Christianity used to be much more tolerant and diverse in its factions IMO. Sounds like "idiot preacher" is too focused on his ego; not allowing folks to use bathroom during his sermon sounds pretty egotistical, I'm shocked at his stance.
in the BBC's 2008 production 'Merlin' Guinevere was portrayed by a British black actress -

Excellent, Edwin.
Edwin, this was a good find, many thanks for posting this article. The author makes many good points here IMO, very interesting info about Islam.

“Sadly unique.”
Very true, and very sad. Some say the Devil’s religion.

So you don’t believe in anything, seems obvious to me.
On the contrary. I believe in human beings and human spirit. I believe in the Vikings who sailed into the unknown. I believe in the explorers who opened up the wilderness. I was joking! LOL
Your belief in the human spirit is impressive. Not all of us are motivated by simple money, very impressive.
