Fascinating. Far too ahead of the technological curve. Bet on drones from submarines being an advanced and deadly reincarnation.

My thoughts exactly. A submersible aircraft carrier, but the drones don’t have to be manned (does anything?), and even 1 way (kamikaze), makes perfect sense for conventional or even nuclear combat.

Not to be forgotten, Lt. Cmdr. Eugene B. “Lucky” Fluckey, skipper of USS Barb (SS-220) the submersible accomplished record-breaking attacks that earned her four Presidential Unit Citations, a Navy Unit Commendation and eight battle stars.

Advanced warfare from torpedo to land assaults and destruction of one train on Japanese soil.

It was amazing use of a submarine, to carry out attacks on Japanese home soil, an idea of what’s done routinely now, a man far ahead of his time who led his crew to glory.
