The exact #1 reason to own one, the government doesn't want you to have one! And ammo, lots of ammo, and not that damned steel care crap either.

The AR-15 has been available in the USA since 1959. so don't try to blame 'school shootings' on it either, they didn't get 'popular' until after the availability of SSRIs.

Good point, I interviewed a leading expert and psychiatrist for over fifty years Dr. Peter Breggin on the link between mass shootings and SSRI's https://medicaltruthpodcast.com/is-there-a-link-between-mass-shootings-and-antidepressants-interview-with-dr-peter-breggin/

It’s not the AR15s they’re after, it’s us. The AR15s are just in the way.

It might also bear mentioning that numerous AR's are sold as "pistols" or stripped receivers can be easily made into pistols, including the iconic "AR-9" 9mm pistol that is highly popular. 10mm, .45 ACP, .357 Mag, .223/5.56, and 300 AAC cartridges are all popular for these nimble firearms.

All of these lower receivers or completed carbines/pistols are also registered as pistols, but are constructed on the AR chassis.

Considering the overwhelming popularity of 80% rifles and pistol receivers, which are the bane of the oblome/biteme regime since they may never be able to get their sordid little hands on them.

Don't ever believe that "registration" is an innocuous action, it is the pathway to certain seizure of said firearms.

Onward, Christian soldiers!

Exactly correct!

YES! 23 rounds, single or multiple shot. And yes I have 1. A .38 is not always sufficient.

Tell the US Marines they don't need a 20 or 30 round mag for self defense, Joe Biden.

How many rounds did a Gatling Gun shoot? The Gatling gun can fire 3,000 rounds per minute if externally powered. The gun's barrels rotate around a central shaft, with one half-rotation loading and firing a barrel, and the second half-rotation ejecting spent cases. The Gatling gun typically fires in two-second bursts, which is enough to fire 100 rounds at 1,200 meters.

Tommy Gun rounds. How many rounds can a Tommy Gun shoot in a minute?

The rate of fire is approximately 830 rounds per minute, with a muzzle velocity of 935 feet/second (285 meters/second). Two XX-Type 20-shot stick magazines. These were preferred by law enforcement because they do not jam. One L-Type 50-round Thompson drum magazine. https://blog.statemuseum.nd.gov/blog/patience-virtue-thompson-submachine-gun-was-worth-wait#:~:text=The%20rate%20of%20fire%20is,(285%20meters%2Fsecond).&text=Two%20XX%2DType%2020%2Dshot,50%2Dround%20Thompson%20drum%20magazine.

The Gatling gun is not a carry gun, but a Tommygun or Submachine gun was the forerunner of the AR15. I'm not a hunter, but if faced with a Grizzly I'd want the AR15. Or a mob of violent criminals.

Hot take: I prefer .308/7.62 battle rifle platform (AR10). I prefer the Springfield M1A over that. Better weapon for a SHTF situation.

20 rounds in 26 seconds, 100 yards, bipod front, bag rear, prone, beautiful day, 70 degrees, very light wind, suppressed with OPS 12th.

I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 10 and it's a ride to shoot. We also have an AR 15 my wife and kids like to shoot. The range and kick on that AR 10 after about 25-30 shots, is real.

Now all we need is the first 13 words of the 2nd amendment back in force and effect. Reads like there are a LOT of potential MILITIA members out there! https://www.courageouslion.us/p/those-forgotten-and-ignored-13-words And I suspect when it comes to how many firearms are owned by Americans that this is a more accurate estimation: https://bearingarms.com/bobowens-bearingarms/2016/10/25/told-600-million-guns-united-states-n27665
