For the endlessly curious, one thought leads to another. Over time, everything seems to be connected and pattern recognition becomes second nature. It's like becoming fluent in a new language. The vastness of the existing body of knowledge beckons, and I want to know as much as I possibly can, until my time is up.
I find it so bemusing that anyone would be satisfied with the mental status quo, with the box of 8 crayons, as opposed to the box of 64 with the built in sharpener, or however many crayons there are nowadays.
There should be no limits placed on us by others or ourselves; our own worst enemy. Instead, people are pushed into these self-limiting slots. "Jack of all trades, master of none" is a pejorative, but why not strive to be master of several, seemingly disparate fields? And then we share our thoughts with one another and learn even more. That is true freedom.
I agree! Corporate recruiters are often guilty of too narrowly defining what skills and experiences they are looking for instead of focusing on finding someone who has been successful in various ventures.
Intellectual freedom is political freedom is economic freedom.
Anyone who reads my Substack All Facts Matter knows that I write on a diversity of subjects. If there's a factual basis for a discussion, the topic is fair game.
Never let anyone tell you what to think. Listen instead to those who give you plenty about which to think.
