I was watching the CBS news with my Dad way back in the 60s and they had a farmer speaking about the extra hour of sunlight burning up his crops. Dad and I just looked at each other and shook our heads. My distrust of all the propaganda media had started.
Dare I offer a common-sense solution? Split the difference:
Move the clocks one half hour, 30 minutes, to a position midway between standard and daylight savings times. And leave them there year round.
The Canadian province of PEI, some decades ago, had a time zone 30 minutes "out of sync" with other folks in the Atlantic Time Zone. And the world did not end.
another "extra" hour of daylight at the end of the afternoon's not bad either, at least for all of those who've finished work by then. as usual it's a matter of priorities. however, if our higher-ups decide that the natural way sunlight works on earth is disturbing, well of course, why don't we just adapt our clocks!

Wow, that’s as good as the dark side of the moon, you know, the side that is always in perpetual darkness.
I was about 8-9 years old and I am like what the fuck, is this guy stupid? Maybe, but they think we are.
Dark Side of the Moon is one of my favorite albums. Seen PF 3 times live. And remember most of it. 😁
The fantasy of "an extra hour of daylight" still amazes me.
Year round Standard Time wins all sophistry laden arguments.

It would be nice to simply not have to change the clocks. One way or another; something should be done.
I remember trump ending daylight savings time during his last term. What happened with that?
