My favorite all time bumper sticker from the early 70s said:
"GIVE: To support the helpless victims of Computer Error!"
I used to drive an old hopped up 71 VW Bug. It was painted yellow, with a custom 4-speed shifter with a header exhaust and two Pioneer power amps for the KP500 Pioneer head unit and four Jenson 6x9 speakers.
It was nicknamed "The Disco Bug." That was a misnomer because it played mostly Rock n Roll from the 60s & 70s.
Anyway, an old buddy printed up a spoof of the old bumper stickers they gave out during the 55 mph promotions.
You might remember the bumper sticker, yellow, with the tilted 55mph sign and the words, "It's not just a good idea. It's the law"
The ones my buddy printed up said, "It's not a good idea. It's just the law."
Naturally, he stuck one on "The Disco Bug" just above the engine cover.
The color match was amazing.
Nobody ever got it. One attractive young lady told me, "I can't believe you have that bumper sticker on your car with the way you drive!"
I told her to read it again. She came back up to the driver's window with a smile on her face.
"Do you think you could get me one like that by 7PM tonight?" she said.
"Sure, but why by 7PM?" I asked her.
"Because, that's when I was going to meet you here at this club you're parked in front of tonight." she answered. "You know, for drinks." she continued.
"What do you like?" I asked her. "Seven and seven." she said.
"I'll have one waiting on you, my dear." and with a smile, she walked off.
She was surprised, when at 7PM, she walked in the club and I was the bartender.
Brilliant.
I've been reading too much doom and gloom, so this was perfect to lighten the mood.
Thank you.

I just got a job bartending !!!!
