I was bought up in an era in Australia when every home had a closet full of guns.

We were taught to shoot, to hunt, and to be responsible. We had no 'gun violence'. in that time. My great grandfathers generation all came home from WW1 with 0.303 rifles that were an awesome weapon. Not many around today. As a teenager from the age of about 13 onwards my cousins and I were often trucked out and left in the wilderness camping for a week or two at a time. We always went armed to the teeth, and shot pigs, ducks and kangaroos. Wild game. I gave up my guns as an young adult as I started travelling and working around Oz. Now with what is happening in the world, I think back and wonder whether they'd be an asset to have now.

Crickey! If civil war ever breaks out in America I wouldn't want to be innocently walking around the countryside. 😄
