Today’s GPs are Lazy, not Overworked – Here’s the Proof
June 3, 2024 by Doctor Vernon Coleman
GPs are constantly complaining that they are desperately overworked. Doctors representatives say the same thing.
But the evidence proves that they are NOT overworked.
Today there are nearly twice as many GPs in England and Wales as there were in 1964 when I started medical school.
And if you look at the number of GPs per 100,000 patients the figures show that there are more GPs available than ever.
Back in 1964, there were 42 GPs per 100,000 patients.
Today, there are around 60 GPs per 100,000 patients.
And remember that GPs used to do home visits, night calls, weekend calls and calls on bank holidays.
Today, very few GPs do any of those things.
And many GPs refuse to see patients `live’ – insisting on doing their consultations over the phone or the internet.
Ring a GP’s surgery today with an emergency and you will be told to go to hospital. In the bad old days GPs would sew up wounds and deal with a whole range of emergencies.
The only possible conclusion is that GPs are not overworked.
Indeed, they do far less work than their predecessors did decades ago.
There are more GPs than ever. And they’re doing less work.
It’s not surprising that hospital Accident and Emergency departments cannot cope.

You have to ask yourself the question?
Who is really educating bright young men and women that want to do good in the medical field? They are being trained to be drug pushers for pharmaceutical companies, and the RNA injections is the latest iteration of what is transpiring!
I live in Australia. It's four years down the track now since something called "covid" started and since the resulting syndrome, called "long covid" turned up in our lives and turned our lives upside down. In four years, no GP local to me has done any reading on alternative ways of handling covid, or alternative ways of handling long covid. In fact, they are still not admitting that long covid exists. As with any syndrome, the "patient" ends up with a list of 20 complaints that are literally impossible to successfully treat as 20 different complaints, but that is what these lazy doctors do. They fixate on single issues. They see high blood sugar so they prescribe metformin and insulin, they see high blood pressure so they prescribe... and on and on and on it goes, with them identifying things they can understand and ignoring everything else they do not understand. They offer a smorgasbord of drugs to suppress the symptoms of a few of the 20 different diseases and refuse point blank to look at what "long covid" might actually be and why overall health is so many people has dropped so dramatically. No that would be too much work for them! Yes, they are profoundly lazy.
