The fact that hospital waiting lists are increasing all the time, that the amount of sick leave taken by working men and women seems to rise each year, that mental illnesses are getting commoner every time statistics are brought up to date, that the incidence of heart disease seems to be on the increase, that there is a massive increase in the amount of pollutant-inspired illness, that 80 per cent of modern cancers are thought to be caused by chemicals of one sort or another, and that the number of health professionals needed to cope with all the sickness is increasing rapidly, seem to suggest that medical research has had relatively little effect on the morbidity rates or upon the quality of life at any time in the last century.
In addition, there is evidence that medical research has actually detracted from the quality of life, causing ethical problems and using funds which could be better used on projects more likely to contribute to good health.
Indeed, there is not only evidence for the uselessness of much medical research: there are also sound indications that many developed countries have reached a point of over-medication which is harmful to health. As Dr Vernon Coleman pointed out in his book `Coleman’s Laws’, if a patient has two conditions – two diseases – there is a very good chance that one of those diseases was caused by the treatment for the other.
Writing in the Journal of Human Resources, an American researcher, Charles T. Stewart, has shown that life expectation is approximately the same in countries with between 4 and 16 doctors per 10,000 people. It is a certain fact that while the number of patients treated by doctors is increasing in numerical terms, the number saved as a percentage of those who could be saved is falling dramatically.
There is a savage irony in the fact that we have now reached the point where, on balance, well-meaning doctors in general practice, and highly trained, well-equipped specialists working in hospitals, may do more harm than good. The epidemic of iatrogenic disease which has always scarred medical practice has been steadily getting worse and today most of us would, most of the time, be better off without a medical profession.
Most developed countries now spend a huge proportion of their Gross National Products on health care but through a mixture of ignorance, incompetence, prejudice, dishonesty, laziness, paternalism and misplaced trust doctors are killing more people than they are saving and they are causing more illness and more discomfort than they are alleviating. Most developed countries now spend around 1% of their annual income on prescription drugs and doctors have more knowledge and greater access to powerful treatments than ever before, but there has probably never been another time in history when doctors have done more harm than they do today.
If doctors really did help people stay alive then you might expect to find that the countries which had most doctors would have the best life expectation figures. But that isn’t the case at all.
My view may sound startling and controversial but it is a view shared by a growing number of independent experts around the world. These figures hardly support the image of doctors as an effective healing profession.
Whatever statistics are consulted, whatever evidence is examined, the conclusion has to be the same. Doctors are a hazard rather than an asset to any community. The British were never healthier than they were during the Second World War.

Even before the current panic I had learned that the only outcome to visiting the doctor’s office is a lighter wallet. Not a single CC that I have had as an adult has been cured or even lessened by a visit to the doctor except those few requiring antibiotics. However, even these have been a wash as my long standing GI issues worsen each time I have been prescribed antibiotics and if they have improved, they have done so over time with out the “aid” of medicine.
IMO There are three components to our current medical system in the USA. The bright side is the surgical procedures are the best worldwide. The treatment of disease states is conflicted. There are those medical groups that maximize profitability by treating disease states without reversing the root cause. The third group is hell bent on using RNA gene technology as the new form of medical treatment for maximum profitability. Very expensive tailored cancer treatment is at the top of the list.
The fact that the RNA injections have accelerated cancer rates is a windfall. The RNA push is going to create serious depopulation issues and will cause the second group to have their patient base shrink. The majority of medical professionals want to help heal their patients, but are now employees of corporations whose goals are in conflict with this goal. The root cause of most disease states are created by embracing life styles that are detrimental to good health. The drivers are Big Chemo, Big Agra, Big Food which deliver less than the best nutritional products laced with trace toxins. Big Medicine stays silent on this issue. Doesn't want to shoot themselves in the foot and needs to continue to grow the HALF TRILLION DOLLAR MEDICAL BUSINESS in the USA! They also ignore and degrade the importance of nutrients to maintain good health. Bad for business. Visited a friend who lives alone and is under the care of a half dozen physicians and is taking multiple Rx drugs. His new cardiologist informed him that he does not need Co-Enzyme Q 10 for compensating for the depletion via his statin drug. That flies in the face of the fact that Merck in 1989 filed two patents for the their statin/Co Q 10 drug. Their scientists identified the need. In Europe it is mandatory to prescribe Co Q 10 with a statin. In the USA, Merck never told physicians it should be prescribed. Starting to believe the new research the cardio man was reciting is a CYA program because lawsuits are coming and they need to find a defense.!
