Also from Google:
What is a simple definition of philosophy?
Quite literally, the term "philosophy" means, "love of wisdom." In a broad sense, philosophy is an activity people undertake when they seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves, the world in which they live, and their relationships to the world and to each other.
Google again:
Philosophy, (from Greek, by way of Latin, philosophia, “love of wisdom”) the rational, abstract, and methodical consideration of reality as a whole or of fundamental dimensions of human existence and experience. Philosophical inquiry is a central element in the intellectual history of many civilizations.
I saw Christopher Roach’s article this morning on AG (American Greatness)
“We’re All Philosophers Now”
and after not reading it, I have decided that he is correct.
So, obviously “observation” Is an important part of the preparation to “philosophize.”
Once again, Google to the rescue:
Philosophize
To speculate or theorize about fundamental or serious issues, especially in a tedious or pompous way.
"he paused for a while to philosophize on racial equality"
Sort of amazing on their example involving “racial equity” isn’t it. Probably not surprising given the source.
“Tedious or pompous?” “Fundamental or serious issues?”
Well, that doesn’t sound too difficult.
“Pardon me, while I philosophize.”
