People lived for thousands of years without heat, light, utilities, etc. that we have today. In order for the planet to survive, humans must cut back on the use of the natural resources. However, nuclear energy is is far from fail-safe. When mankind is involved in any way, there is always a risk. Chernobyl in the mid 1980s was one example. Putin remembered it, I am sure. There are 7 nuclear reactors sitting on his border; one the largest in Europe. If anything went wrong with just one, it would affect the other six and it could wipe out Europe and affect the entire world. We have 180 units in America...and one is sitting on a fault thirty miles from NYC! Using nuclear is very questionable!.
