Thinking ahead

Dr Vernon Coleman

However old you are, you still have to plan for the future in a positive way – or you are merely marking time, filling in the hours until the final whistle. We need plans and ambitions but most of us feel we need to be flexible enough to allow for unforeseen events without causing crises. Some courageous souls, however, can simply ignore reality and carry on regardless.

When he was seriously ill (he had laryngeal cancer and had suffered a number of heart attacks), Evan Hunter the novelist (who was also known as Ed McBain) announced that he was beginning a new series of books about a new character. He declared that he was planning 26 books and that each book would start with a title starting with a different letter of the alphabet. The first book in the series was entitled ‘Alice in Jeopardy’. Sadly, that was the only book in the series. But you have to give the man full marks for courage and for ambition.

NOTE

The above is taken from Vernon Coleman’s latest book - `Old Man in an Old Car’. To purchase a copy CLICK HERE. The book is only available as a hardcover. But please note that printing costs mean that the royalty received is considerably less than the royalty that would be paid on an eBook version. But the hardcover book looks and feels much better than a paperback.

Hi Edwin, I love reading your column and I read just about everything you send! I will say early on that I didn’t buy into any of the BS that the media, the government or anyone else was spewing about Covid and how we were all going to die!

I guess it helped that I’ve never trusted the government in my life and I sure as hell was not gonna trust them now.

I still traveled wherever I wanted to go and put on a mask if I was made to do so, but by no means did I think masks were good for anyone breathing in your filth and your carbon dioxide all day cannot be good.

I also never understood how people honestly believed that if you stood 6 feet apart that a virus would never get to you. It absolutely makes no sense because a virus travels everywhere..

I also never understood how everyone just bought in to the fear mongering from the media and our government and doctors and nurses. I didn’t buy into any of that and said only God knows when I’m gonna die and I will not live in fear and I didn’t.

I swore that I would never put that poison in my body ever, however in October 2021, my employer who said they would never mandate that shot did just that. And if you didn’t get that shot that was considered a voluntary resignation.

Basically, you had to give up your livelihood, and I cried for a week because I didn’t wanna put that shit in my body. Begrudgingly I did so and I’ve told my family if something happens to me, I can guarantee it’s because of that shot.

I’ve done everything I can with vitamin supplements, etc., getting enough sunshine in hopes that I can help get some of the poison out of my body. I did end up with Hashimoto’s after I had that shot and I do believe that the Covid shot is what caused that particular auto immune disease.

I just really want to say that I still can’t believe there are people that will continue to get boosters and seem to be totally unaware of what they’re putting in their body. And to top it off, they still think they are protecting someone by getting these boosters.

I don’t understand it because from the get go, I didn’t buy into any of what they were saying or the fear mongering and none of what they were telling people to do made sense to me, but some people, many of them just fell right in step and did what they told them to do.

If they really cared about people being healthy, they would’ve told them go outside. Get some sunshine. Take a walk get some exercise some of the best things you can do to stay healthy and the least likely place to get Covid.

Lastly, I will say I still don’t understand it!
