IMO it's good that you are questioning what the news media tell us; I agree they do indeed lie. I grew up with a dad who was in WW2 and became a journalist - he taught me the media lied all the time. I was 6 y.o. and it was under JFK's presidency when he began to teach me that. ALWAYS question everything you hear and do your own research. The internet is a good tool for that, sometimes you have to really dig but one can still generally find the truth if you put the pieces together. Having said that, I do think this article is telling the truth. We know China has been coming after U.S. for decades. They have bought up our land and spied on us for eons.
Why would they have bought up their land? Think about what else they could do with the BILLIONS of US "dollars" that they take in on trade. They have to do something with it. And buying up the land of the country whose "dollars" they have makes sense from an economic point of view too. Why would they buy up land in some other country when they would actually be loosing purchasing power since the "dollar" isn't worth as much in other countries. The best way to break even is to trade with us. Buying land is an option that is one of the only options they have. They do buy automobiles from us and some other items that they don't produces as well or as efficiently. I don't like the idea of them buying up land but, I also don't like the fact that so many companies from the US go to them due to the cheaper labor and have their products produced and then bring them back here.
I just bought a rifle sling at Dunham's sports. It was a paracord design and even though I needed it like a hole in the head (I have plenty of rifle slings) I thought it looked cool so I bought it. Guess what it said on it? DESIGNED IN TEXAS made in CHINA. It was about 35 bucks total with tax. Now you can't tell me that it couldn't have been made in the USA and sold for the same amount. It might have cost the company a buck or two more, but the way they look at it economically is if it costs us $2.00 more to make it in the US and we sell 100,000 of them, we will lose $200,000 in profit. See my point? That's why almost nothing is made in the US anymore of any value. Most of the cars made here are filled with Chinese parts in the electrical system because Ford, GM and whoever is left of Dodge, Plymouth or Chrysler save LOTS in production costs by buying Chinese parts.
I was thinking about how the Auto industry in the US has three companies left out of how many that fell by the way side? GERMANY which is nowhere the size of the US has Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche, BMW and Audi. And they don't use Chinese parts for the majority of their cars.
I guess it won't matter much in the near future where we won't own anything and be happy. And I guess I'll use up some of my ammo on whoever wants to take my things. Because owning property is what the pursuit of happiness is speaking of in the DoI.
